Are you retail?
NO! We sell exclusively to the design trade. We respect that relationship with our clients and only deal with home owners directly when in conjunction with our clients or our own friends and family.
Why do you charge so much for shipping?
Over the last few years shipping rates have skyrocketed. Freight charges are not a profit centre for DCRC and we pass those rates on to our clients as accurately as we can. We work with our vendors to have consolidated shipments where possible and work with everyone to keep shipping rates in check. Some manufacturers have freight fees built into their pricing and others break it out which can be confusing. Rest assured we review the rates regularly and adjust as necessary.
Why don’t you offer credit terms?
Because manufacturers set wholesale pricing and we want to be fair and honest in passing those prices along to our clients we have little control over our margins. By offering credit terms, the line of credit needed to cover those outstanding balances would reduce our already tight margins significantly. It’s commonplace in our industry to take deposits on projects and we suggest our clients do the same to cover those initial material costs.
Why do you charge a credit card convenience fee?
Credit card fees significantly impact our already tight margins. While we receive great rates from our processor, the amount of fees we were paying prior to charging the convenience fee was the equivalent of an average salary within DCRC. We’d like to put those dollars to good use within the company rather than funding the already well-off credit card companies.
